New Prince statue unveiled in Henderson, MN – the town made famous by Purple Rain

A 5’2″ bronze statue of Prince was unveiled this week at “Purple Place” in Henderson, MN, located about an hour south west of Minneapolis. It has been added to Prince’s Garden which started with a granite bench carved with doves and Prince’s famous symbol guitar, later adding the mural of Prince leaning on a Red Corvette in front of First Avenue in Minneapolis.
The scenic byway just east of Henderson was the site of some of the most memorable moments of Prince’s 1984 film “Purple Rain.”
