I succumbed. I watched Crime Scene: The Vanishing at Hotel Cecil, and I’m disappointed. Although I remember the internet uproar at the time, I never followed up the story until now. The show itself is well shot. Dark interiors for the interviews. Edited to prolong the suspense. But there really wasn’t a real mystery. Just a sad story about a bright young woman with Bi-polar disease. Mental health issues are so important and I don’t feel that those issues were well served by this treatment of Elisa Lam’s story.
