When talking about the survival of the fittest, people think the fittest are the toughest. Not so.

Research scientists Brian Hare and Vanessa Woods, both at Duke University’s Center for Cognitive Neuroscience, say it’s all about being friendly. They have a new book “Survival of the Friendliest: Understanding our Origins, and Rediscovering our Common Humanity” Hare says “The most successful strategy in life is friendliness and cooperation, and we see it again and again.”

Looking at the headlines, it doesn’t seem like we are evolving!
