I grew up in the Mid-west and our winters are long and our summers short. So I would watch more Winter Olympics that Summer games. We would be outside til bedtime in the summer playing our own games. This year may be no different.
The Tokyo games start Friday without fans. No spectators will be allowed at any events because of Tokyo’s new state of emergency, which will run from July 12 to Aug. 22
There have been several athletes testing positive for Covid already. And 58% of Tokyo residents polled oppose the games for safety reasons.
And those cardboard beds!
On the plus side there are 5 new sports at the Olympics! I might have to watch the Surfing or Skateboarding. Somehow I think I would enjoy those events like I enjoy Curling and the Bobsled.
