Apparently Sunday’s Golden Globes (Hollywood Foreign Press) will ignore the show that’s a favorite on OUR TV screens. NBC’s “This Is Us” sparkles with intricate but subtle writing, seamless editing that covers 35 years of complicated family life in Pittsburgh. Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown and Milo Ventimiglia benchmark a stellar cast. Tuesday nights 8p CT, although it’s usually watched on DVR Wednesdays in our house. Nimble enough to include real scientists (who came up with ZOOM) woven into recent story lines :

But Golden Globes are a fun watch as they trophy both TV and movies. And our house roots for the goofy: 1989 Best Actress(s) – 3X – Sigourney Weaver, Jodie Foster, Shirley MacLaine. 2001 Liz Taylor opens Best Drama winner instead of the nominees and was almost tackled by host Dick Clark.
